Although Theodore Reder built a dam across a narrow spot in Sunday Gulch in 1881 resulting in today's Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park, this 'pond' doesn't compare. Nice view from the hide site though. This is one of my favorite hiking and biking trails close to home. There is parking available. There is a good dirt/gravel road that you can follow most of the way to the hide site. Abundant views of Spring Creek and the Stratobowl Ridge if you continue along the road. Bring your own pencil.
