Geocache Description:

This is Wisconsin's oldest geocache. Located in Pike Lake State Park, hilly terrain, beautiful views. It's also the first cache placed in a Wisconsin State Park and the first placed with permission of WDNR park management.

9/23/02: Please note that climbing the hill from the road immediately to the east is forbidden by park rules, as posted on the signs. Please respect the rules so we stay on good terms with park managers. Access the cache by using established trails only.

PLEASE -- If you search for this during the winter, do not walk on the ski trails when the snow is groomed for cross-country skiing. Use skis, or walk on the extreme edge of the trail so your footprints don't dig into the groomed snow. Also, no dogs are allowed on the state park trails during winter.
