This will take you near the USCG LORAN Station.(now decommissioned)
Very proud to say I served in USCG and stationed here for 4 years. Spent 20 years total in Coast Guard. Road has gotten worse over the years but fine for any car. Just a little bumpy! Hard to pull off road but as long as people can get around, no problem. Lots of room for travel bugs! Enjoy the hunt. LORAN mother of GPS! Happy Caching. SEMPER PARATUS! (Always Ready-----To cache)
Update: 01-03-15
Maintenance of cache today. Made this a two stage multi. After getting cords for second stage make sure you head to the main road to get the cache. Do not try the road by the shack going up the hill. Super Sandy. Upped the difficulty to 3. The big surprise is the towers at the Loran station are now gone & buildings have been broken into & stripped of anything valuable. Copper, aluminum all gone. Very sad especially after someone like me spent years maintaining it!
