A landmark in Leichhardt that defines the boundary between Lilyfield and Leichhardt. The CityWest link provides an overpass over the Hawthorne Canal for motor traffic.
The area around the cache site is an area frequented by cyclists, dog-walkers and joggers.
This particular section of the CityWest link was built in 2000, although work on the whole concept began in 1991. It provides a more direct route from the City to Ashfield, although in peak hour, it just moves the bottleneck further west.
The cache is not located on the motorway on the other side of barrier, so please don't attempt to find it there.
There is a park on the other side of the Canal for geokids.
