Geocache Description:

Mason Ridge Trail Cache

Morgan-Monroe State Forest

Since there are 2 other more difficult caches in this area, I decided to place a 3rd one that is a little easier to get to.

This area has a lot of fond memories for me. My first camping experience and hiking trip was from this state forest.
The trail use to be called the Yellowwood Trail. It was 23.5 miles long and went from Morgan-Monroe State Forest through Yellowwood State Park and finished at the fire tower in Brown County State Park. This was a 2-day backpacking trip. We spent our 2nd night in Yellowwood State Park. If I remember correctly the 2nd half started by the small bridge on the NE end of Yellowwood Lake by the group camping grounds..
Enough rambling.
The cache container is an ammo box. It does have a Geocaching Decal on the side.
I would suggest you Park Here N39 19.460 W086 24.976.Take the trail on the other side of the road from the parking area. The cache is .35 Miles from the parking lot. This is an easy walk for every one if you stay on the trail. You can make it harder but shorter if you bushwhack from another location. This cache is good for the entire family.

By the way this cache is in the Safe Zone (No Hunters)
