Bob and I live up the Deschutes River about 5 miles. We moved here in 1969 to get off the city streets and raise our kids in the country and we have loved every minute of it. We were blessed to have great kids and they helped with our animals and pets like, chickens, goats, sheep, which they showed at fairs, horses, cats and dogs. They got to have motorcycles, play in the river, eat crawdads, and play with their cousins.
It's been very enjoyable living on our beautiful river.
This river fills up very fast during long days of rain but it also is the fastest river to recede as it enters Capitol Lake then goes out to the bay.
We love our river.
