Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache is located on The site of the 1963 mine disaster. Three miners were trapped underground and only two made it out the third died and this cache is dedicated to him. This cache is not to be taken lightly the round trip is over 5 miles and some of the caches are placed in hard to get locations. You will probably get wet so dress for some water.
In 1963 a miner by the name of Louis J Bova went to work on what felt like a normal day but the terror and sadness that would come from that day affects some people till this day.
This cache is placed on reclamation land so please help keep it beautiful by practicing CITO and being respectful to wildlife.
There IS NO NEED to cross posted signs as the caches are not in these areas. It is recommended that this cache is not done with children or pets as the terrain get pretty rough at times. I placed these caches without any equipment but care should be taken when retrieving them. Please place all back as you found them. Enjoy!
