It is time again for some Spring fun!! Come join us and other cachers for an Easter Egg hunt at the Hennig Preserve, Providence, NY. Find some eggs, find some caches, and find some friends (or make new ones) as you and/or your children look for eggs spread throughout the preserve.

Prizes for found eggs will include candy, toys, geo-items, and other items yet to be determined. Drinks and snacks will be made available. If you want to bring something to share, then please post it so others will know. If you would like to contribute items to be given away, then please contact me.

Bring your friends, bring your children, bring your pets and bring yourselves! It would also be wise to bring the bug repellant and some tweezers as some of us discovered ticks, not geocoins, on our clothing at last year’s event! YUCK!!

Last year’s event went pretty well and we had some really nice weather. Let us hope this year’s event follows suit!

This year will be very exciting for this event as we will be unveiling the “Misplaced Myosotis” series. The listings will be public just prior to the event for better planning for those that would like to work on that series while attending the event. All are newly placed in accordance to Saratoga PLAN management and will help to guide you through the preserve. As currently envisioned, there should be a minimum of eight new caches.

50 sets of eggs will be hidden, split in to eggs for children as well as adults. The coordinates are given out on a first-come first-served basis. When they run out, they run out.

Andy Fyfe, Stewardship & Education Coordinator, has given us the go-ahead to have our annual Easter Egg Event at the Hennig Preserve. (more information about preserve to be entered here…suggestions welcomed)

”On August 20th 2011, Saratoga P.L.A.N. officially opened the 606-acre Hennig Preserve in the Town of Providence. Bob Hennig and Penny Steffen, Barbara Hennig and the late Mally Sue Bleikamp Hennig lovingly cared for this property for over 50 years. They donated the property to Saratoga P.L.A.N in August 2010..”

The property is still undergoing trail maintenance as well as some cleaning. Please excuse them while they work to beautify this land for all to enjoy.

Dogs are welcome but need to be leashed.
