EAST END BELL Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BackpacknJack: This Geocache has been [ARCHIVED] by the cache owner.
I’m moving to Northern Arkansas so I will no longer be able to maintain my caches here in the Central and Southern parts of the State. I want to thank all the property owners and/or land managers for allowing me to place these. I’m very proud of our State and glad I have been a small part in showing off it’s parks, trails, small towns and backroads.
I hope everyone has enjoyed all the hunts - - and the 244 total finds.

Geocache Description:

The log with zip bag is in a small tin w/magnet about 6.5ft high. Please replace exactly as found so it blends in as best it can.

Prominently displayed next to the road at the East End Baptist Church is the old 1 room Duck Creek School house‘s #30 bell. Not sure of the whole story yet, hope to some day, but a 30” (#30) bell is a church size and 26” were the normal school size. They both had very distinctive sounds. My dating of this early CS Bell casting is between 1886 to 1890. (Member of the American Bell Society and I asked the experts there to help me date it) I hope you too enjoy this great peace of early East End history and I thank the East End Baptist Church for sharing this location with us.
