Geocache Description:

I'd give the terrain 1.1 if I could. (That's code for: Don't go down the embankment or onto private property.) Please put it all back like you found it. Daytime only, please.

UPDATE June 28, 2012: Moved cache a few feet; similar hide but terrain now...1.2.

UPDATE May 22, 2013: Cache has been "disturbed" a few times and left lying out in the road. Thanks to those who have kept the "Lady" alive. I have changed the cache container to a ziplock bag (making it easier to stuff somewhere...but harder for you to find). I have moved it closer to the original location but in a--hopefully--more secure location. This ups the difficulty to 2.5; terrain now "officially" 1.5 (but you still don't have to go ALL the way to the bottom). Cache NOT in, on, or under vegetation. Please replace well.

How would you like to live in Camelot, that idyllic setting of bravery, romance, chivalry, and intrigue?

For centuries, the tales of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table have enchanted children and adults alike. Are they fanciful, fabricated tales (several authors have added to the story over time), or do they have a legendary, larger-than-life, factual character at their root?

Several versions exist as to just who The Lady of the Lake was: Her name and role varies depending on which author--and which story--you read.

Thanks to a movie I watched "back in the day," what I remember about her was that she gave Arthur his sword, Excalibur. Many years later, when he was severely wounded in combat and it was clear he could not remain king, one of his faithful knights threw Excalibur back into the lake from whence it came; the hand of the Lady of the Lake rose up out of the water to seize it in mid-air.

(The OTHER story about how he got the sword is the famous pull-it-out-of-a-stone trick, thanks to the magic of Merlin. There were no rabbits in that story, however, unlike the must-watch 1974 parody, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".)

CONGRATULATIONS to ktwins725 on snatching an FTF in record time...even though we don't keep record times!
