CherryCacher: This cache was a yellow nano on a yellow fire hydrant. One searcher said they thought the Hydrant had been painted. It turns out the hydrant was replaced with a brand-new hydrant. This cache served the geocacher community well for over 10 years and was part of a greater group puzzle for CNY12 (the first CNY series) with a final that has been gone for 5 years, so it is time to retire it.

Geocache Description:

The CNY series celebrates the Chinese New Year. The 12 animal signs of the Chinese Zodiac are presented. Eleven will have a number needed for the coordinates to find the twelfth for this Chinese New Year, The Year of the Dragon.

The dog is man's friend who can understand the human's spirit and obey its master, whether he is wealthy or not. The Chinese regard the dog as an auspicious animal. If a dog happens to come to a house, usually the host will be very glad to adopt it, for it symbolizes the coming of fortune. Poodles, especially black poodles, bring more luck. The masters of dogs are not only humans, but immortal in legends as well. The invincible God Erlang used a wolf-dog mix to help him capture monsters.
