On the edge of the Peesey Swamp, east of Warooka.
The Peesey Swamp is a vast swampland between Warooka and Yorketown on the Southern Yorke Peninsula. A lot of the time the Peesey resembles salt pans with plenty of salt bush, but it is also often under water after significant rain events or wet seasons. The Peesey Swamp is actually below sea level, and I've heard old locals say that if the sand hills at Flarhty's beach and Green hill (nr Pt Moorowie on the south coast) were removed the sea would run right through and all the land west of the Peesey would be left an island.
I mentioned that the Peesey resembles salt pans, well in fact that is true as up until about the mid 1960's salt was harvested from the pans on the Peesey. This geocache is actually hidden on the edge of the Peesey Swamp, opposide the site of an old salt mine.
Contains good swaps for the geo-kids.
