Geocache Description:


There were 20 or more schools around the Cohuna area. Some were only open for a short time, some moved to a different site and others moved to another school.

Seven of these schools consolidated and became Cohuna Higher Elementary School.

This school originally known as Kow Swamp North School opened about 30th July 1891. Where 16 children were present the oldest being 16 years old.
The head teacher was Thomas Sherwood.
About March 1894 the school became Horton School.Kow Swamp North-Horton Schoolwas in Hilderbrand Road from 1891 to 1898
Then the school building and pupils were moved to Horfield School Road.
A new building was put up in 1915.
The name changed again in 1925 to Horfield School.

Horfield State School closed on 21st April 1948. And Consolidated.
The 15 pupils were transferred to the Cohuna Higher Elementary School.
This school became Cohuna Consolidated School.

The cache is a Nano bison tube. Log only BYO pen.
