There were 20 or more schools around the Cohuna area. Some were only open for a short time, some moved to a different site and others moved to another school.
Seven of these schools consolidated and became Cohuna Consolidated Higher Elementary School.
This school was known as Cohuna School. It opened in 1877. Anna Orr was head teacher with 32 pupils with grades 1 to 9.
The school changed names to Gannawarra State School in 1883 when a school was built in Cohuna township.
This school move 3k's further towards Koondrook to make the school more accessable for people further along the road.
The school was on the site where the Gannawarra Hall now stands.
Gannawarra School closed on 15th April 1948, And Consolidated.
The 20 students were transferred to Cohuna Higher Elementary School.
This school became Cohuna Consolidated Higher Elementary School.
The cache is a small plastic container with log and some small swaps
Please park well off the road as the road is very busy at times.
