Geocache Description:


There wer 20 schools or more around the Cohuna area. Some were only opened for a short time. Some moved to a different site and others moved to another school.

Seven of these schools consolidated and became Cohuna Consolidated Higher Elementary School.

This school was known as Cohuna Estate State School. It was opened in 1914.
Mr Frank Jobling was the head teacher.
Nature study days were a well known feature.
The main sport played by the pupils in the early days was rounders.
There were also tennis courts behind the school.
Pupils either rode horses or walked to school.

The site of the school is further up the road from GZ the plaque is in front yard of the farm house.

The Cohuna Estate School closed on the 12th April 1948.
And Consolidated.
The 17 pupils were transferred to Cohuna Higher Elementary School.
The school now became Cohuna Consolidated Higher Elementary School.

The cache is a eclipse mint container covered in grey duck tape with log . BYO pen. Please replace in same spot. The log should have a letter and a number on it this you will need for the final in the series.

Please park well off the road.
Watch out for muggles and snakes.
