Geocache Description:

Near the village of Holymoorside on a popular local walk along a wooded footpath up to Stanedge Golf Course. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs as there are steps and a steep bank to climb. Parking nearby in the village on New Road which is on a Bus Route.

This is one of our favourite family walks near to the Old School where my chidlren went years ago. The walk takes you on a circular route from the village,up through Gladwin Wood to Stanedge Golf Course and on to Darley Road for a few steps before turning off and down the hill to Stonehay Farm. Follow the path through Cathole Coppice then down along Harewood Road and back to the village. Parking is avaiable in the village on New Road outside the Old School or on Cotton Mill Road at the bottom of the village near the pub. Holymoorside has an interesting past.
