The
Chattahoochee Valley Cachers are excited to welcome the new Alabama
State Parks GeoChallenge and we would love for you to join us in
celebrating the kickoff of this great challenge!
The day will be filled with
activities at Lakepoint Resort State Park and when that's all done,
head on over to join us at the Cajun Corner in downtown Eufaula (by
the monument) for Shrimp Étouffée or other yummy cajun
delights.
So, what is
Étouffée?
Étouffée or etouffee
(pronounced: [e.tu.fe] ay-too-fay) is a dish found in both Cajun
and creole cuisine typically served with shellfish over rice. It is
most popular in New Orleans and in the bayou country of the
southernmost half of Louisiana.
We will
meet at the posted coordinates at 5:30pm CST for food, fellowship
and celebration. There may also be a few door prizes. Please post
your "will attend" and the number of folks with you so we can let
the restaurant know to be ready for us!
