Geocache Description:

This Cache is about 9 miles round trip. Do your homework before setting out!

The cache is hidden in green ammo box. It's a 9 mile round trip on the Gabriellino Trail. There's two trails you can take to reach the destination. One trail allows horses and bikes (although, most of the trail is about 2 feet wide and has a drop on one side...you decide). The other trail takes you to the top of Sturtavent falls and continues along the stream. This is one of the most beatiful trails I've found in this area. It follows Santa Anita Canyon up the North Fork. There's a running stream alongside of the trail most of the year. It makes a great local overnight backpacking trip if you stay in Spruce Grove. Most of the trail has a dense canopy of trees so make sure to study maps and familiarize yourself with the area as GPS will only be useful in small gaps. It can be done in one day, but I'd suggest and early start. The cache was done with backpacker's in mind and contains:
  • Waterproof Matches
  • Anti-Itch Spray
  • Water Germicide tablets
  • Trash Bags ("pack it in, pack it out")
  • Boot Strings
  • 4 AA Bateries
  • 2 D Batteries
  • Compass
  • Candles
  • Aspirin
  • Emergency Blanket
  • 2 Rain ponchos
  • Additional Hints (Decrypt)
