A easy cache located where Army Creek flows under Rt 9 to the tidal gates located on the New Castle walkway along the Delaware River. Past here its not very scenic and Rt 9 goes through some industrail area.
This is the start of the 21 cache Rt-9 series, although the true start of the byway would be at DGT New Castle Court House Museum geocache and other existing geocaches in town of New Castle.
Route 9 Coastal Heritage Scenic Byway winds along the north and central Delaware coast, passing through several wildlife refuges and areas. The byway begins in the historic city of New Castle and ends just south of Dover Air Force Base. The two-lane, north-south road runs 52 miles, paralleling the western shore of Delaware River and Bay.
