This is a 3-stage multi, with a letterbox twist at the end. There is no charge to enter this side of the park. Please keep a close eye on dogs and small children, fencing along this side of the gorge is minimal if any at all. Park hours are 6a-11p, please adhere to these hours.
This is the 4th and last of our dam view series, it is also a Beehive Challenge Cache. The challenge is open to all, the 1st twenty finders, please post your position number when logging. For more info on the challenge go to www.georoc.org.
The parking coords will bring you to a trailhead that we recommend you follow as much as possible.
Part 1-The posted coords will take you to a benchmark. Here is where you will get a magnificent view of the dam. You will need to gather some information from the benchmark to continue on. You may encounter some trouble with snow here, but there are many ways to get this information!
Take the 1st two numbers of the fine for tampering with the benchmark. Multiply this by 2, add 18, then subtract that number from the north coords.
Take the last number in the top box on the benchmark. Multiply this by 22 and add to the west coords.
Part 2-Here you will be looking for a unique item. Inside you will find directions to the final. a regular compass, or knowing how to use your electronic compass in your gps or how to project a waypoint might be very handy here!
Part 3-You will be looking for a 30cal. ammo can. FTF-A waterbottle coozie for you and a bear bell for your slowest friend. also the honors of getting the 1st 20 points in the Beehive challenge!
