Geocache Description:

A cache placed for the Durham and District (D.A.D.) meet February 2012.

S.O.A.R. cache - or for the full title Sedgefield Old Approach Road. All these caches will be placed close to, or near, an old approach road leading to the small town of Sedgefield. Sedgefield has a population of around 5000 and growing. It has a horse racing course, golf club, cricket club and is home of the Sedgefield Harriers. It has a wonderful park on the outskirts called Hardwick Park, which also contains a very fine Hotel of the same name. Sedgefield is twinned with Hamminkeln, Germany. It has even been visited by a President who it is said enjoyed fish and chips in the local Inn with the then Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Sedgefield station opened in 1834 and managed 118 years service before closure in 1952.

This cache – micro, please bring your own writing implement (which cacher would be without one?) Please, please replace as you found it. This road is still used and at times can flood. Please be wary where you park.

Well done to Henry-Jones & Mel& Freddie on being ***FIRST TO FIND***
