The Cache is located on the East bike/hiking trail at Lake
McMurtry. The trail head is starts at N 36 Deg. 10.862', W 097 Deg.
10.503'.
The distance traveled to the stash on the trail is about 2.5-3
miles. The Entire trail is 6.2 miles. There is a loop for bikers
that is about 1.5-2 miles that comes back to the same spot, you do
not have to take this loop to get to the stash. I would sugest that
you get a trail map before you start. You may have to uncover the
container, for there are leaves and some dirt covering it. It is
stashed under some brush just right off the trail. The Trail it
self has several hills and valleys the give you a good workout. It
takes about 1-2 hours to hike the entire trail.The container is
your basic rubbermaid container. The contents that we left in it
were a green lei, a wind up toy looking like the little car off toy
story, OSU pencil, Calculator, and six Budweiser coasters. This
Cache was the first stash that Lacy and I put down. We really like
Lake McMurtry, we go sailing there with a Hobie 16. Also, I like
riding the trail with my Mt Bike. So if you are a lake rat then
bring your toys and spend the day. Go hiking and look for this cool
stash. CACH UPDATE, I have had several people find this cach and
then find a ticket on their car when they are finished for the day.
There is a user fee for the trails and the lake and it is only
about $3. This is a small price to pay, I myself had gotten a
ticket there and it was a pain to get it taken care of. Happy
