A pleasant walk along a path and over the bridge, followed by a seasonally torturous bushwacking expedition. During the spring/summer this will deserve every bit of a 3 - 4.5 star terrain rating (maybe more, depending on your route). During the fall, and especially the winter, this drops down to a solid 2.5 or maybe even a 2 star terrain.
In 2015, the Forest Preserve District will be celebrating our 100th Anniversary. We are currently celebrating the 100th Anniversary with a Geocaching Extravaganza by featuring new and existing caches around the county. Each of these caches will contain a unique sticker and/or a passport booklet from the Forest Preserve District. Geocachers will find these caches, and place one sticker from the cache into their passport. Once they collect five of the eight caches, they can turn their book in at Fullersburg Woods for a prize which will be a Forest Preserve District Geocoin . We plan on featuring new and current caches each year, which will lead to new coins until the 100th Anniversary in 2015.
Cache has been approved by the DuPage County Forest Preserve District and they ask that we include the following info:
1. This Geocache is placed on DuPage County Forest Preserve property with permission.
2. Do not place the following items in the Geocache: Food items, inappropriate, offensive, or hazardous materials.
3. DuPage County Forest Preserve hours are 1 hour after sunrise until 1 hour after sunset. Preserve users must not be in the preserves after hours.
4. It is the visitor's responsibility to be aware of the policies and rules pertaining to this preserve. For more information on preserve rules, see the information kiosk in the parking lot of the preserve or contact Visitor Services at (630) 933-7248.
5. All Statutes, Ordinances, rules and regulations pertaining to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County are applicable.
