The Ex-Shanklin 'Girls' (The Nickster (N), and Mum (H) of SPO and Mum), having been friends for 40 years (50 years in spring 2021!), placed some caches to celebrate.
This cache was hidden to mark the 50th wedding anniversary of D&D (N's parents), who were married at St Pauls Church, Shanklin (which is just visible to the north - see GC80VGV) in January 1962.
From the cache site you can also see the location of their wedding reception venue - the Regent Cafe (in the building now occupied by All Seasons flowers & gifts); and of their Golden Anniversary party - the Regency Suite in the Conservative Club.
Very muggley location, so stealth is required, and you need to BYO pen.
In order to claim the Nostalgia - Bonus cache (GC3HT2J) you need to find (nearly) all 13 of the other Nostalgia caches and make a note of the letters and numbers from their log books and/or cache containers.
If completing this series as a circular walk, we suggest the following caches next:
Clockwise; GC32YE9 Nostalgia - Victoria Avenue. Straight up the High Street and right at the traffic lights.
Anti-clockwise; GC5X18A Nostalgia - M&A's Emerald Wedding Anniversary. From the entrance to the Conservative Club go E along Palmerston Road (follow the direction tiles inset in the pavement), then turn N past the cliff lift.
