Do NOT park on the Ocean Road to access this cache ! There is plenty of parking off the road at at WP1 and WP2
Located on the top of a hill providing views across the Anglesea heathlands, township and across to the sea, this was the site of one of Mr Emu's devilish series of puzzle caches.
Since they have been archived, this spot has only been visited by bike riders, 4WD'ers and those here to claim the GCA trig point that is nearby. But this is a view that deserves a cache, so we have placed one here to give people the excuse they need.
Leave the Ocean Rd at WP1, which is the intersection with Coalmine Road and look for the start of the Ixodia Track on your left immediately as you turn off.
If in doubt park here and walk up the track to GZ, but most cars shouldn't have any trouble making it to WP2, which is the intersection of Ixodia Tk with Treecreeper Tk. If you have a 4WD or high-clearance vehicle, you can drive right to GZ, otherwise, it is a short walk from here up the Treecreeper track to the trig point and lookout.
Enjoy the views and don't forget to do the necessary photos to claim the GCA trig point.
The area is popular with mountain and trail bike riders and 4WD'ers, so muggles are possible.
The usual precautions should be taken for reptilian natives in the warmer months.
Cache is a camo' ed 1l Sistema
If you have a serious 4WD and would like the challenge, you can approach GZ from below via Powerline Tk, which leaves Coalmine Road near the entrance to the tip, down the hill from WP1. Treecreeper Tk intersects Powerline Tk a couple of hundred metres in from Coalmine Rd. Be warned though, the final approach is very steep and in wet weather will be very slippery. Even in dry conditions, this is not for the faint of heart or those who aren't experienced 4WD'ers. I take all care, but no responsibility.
