Happy Birthday, Tim Powers! - a Leap Day event Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

chaosmanor: Time to turn this off, so that the icon doesn't keep messing up the maps. If anyone who attended hasn't logged their visit, you will still be able to do so, but be sure to date your log on the 29th of February, or you won't get the special Souvenir, if the event is the only cache you got on Leap Day.

Once again, thank you all very much for making this such a wonderful event!

Geocache Description:

Come join us for good food and caching stories on Wednesday, the 29th of February! [238/206]

Where: Toppers Pizza, 520 Arneill Road, Camarillo.

When: from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, or later, if no one else reserves the back room later that night.

If you need a cache Find on Leap Day, then make plans to attend this tomato-saucy event! There are several easy urban caches nearby, and this event will also qualify for most "cache-a-day"-type challenge caches.

Groundspeak has also announced that they will do a Souvenir for anyone who posts a Find on Leap Day. They are hoping to set a record for logs posted on a single date.

At least one of our books of geocoins will be at the event, for those who like to collect geocoin icons. We might also bring a few unactivated geocoins along for trading, if others are interested.

There will be a small raffle of a few items for those in attendance. If anyone wishes to donate something, please contact us directly through our profile, or e-mail address.

There will also be a traveler trade box, for folks to drop off TBs and geocoins that they want someone else to move along.

It's been years since we hosted an event, and this seemed like a good time for it. And as for Tim? Well, Jim (the other half of chaosmanor) went to school with Tim Powers, and has copies of all of his published novels. He was born on Leap Day in 1952, so it seemed as good a Leap Day thing to celebrate as any
