Geocache Description:

This is one of ten caches placed for Cache Across Maryland (CAM) 2012.
Each location was picked specifically to give you a taste of the state
and show you just a part of its beauty.

CAM 2012!

By visiting all ten CAM caches, you'll be able to see why Maryland is truly
"America in Miniature". We hope you enjoy them!

The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, occasionally referred to as the "Grand Old Ditch," operated from 1831 until 1924 parallel to the Potomac River in Maryland from Cumberland to Washington, D.C.
Town Creek Aqueduct is located along the C & O Canal between Paw Paw Tunnel and Old Town at mile 162. The Town Creek Aqueduct allowed boats loaded with cargo to gracefully cross over the top of Town Creek. The aqueduct is a single arch stone structure which crosses the creek just upstream from its confluence with the Potomac River.

THIS CACHE IS ONLY AVAILABLE FROM DAWN TO DUSK!

The cache is located just outside of NHP Canal property.

To get to the cache, cross the aqueduct and take a roughly 1/2 mile walk along the old Western Maryland RR right of way to the cache.
