Geocache Description:

You are looking for a well-camoflauged micro, only containing a logbook. Please replace exactly as found!!

The cache is located at the Campana Elm near Hitchner Hall on the University of Maine Campus. There is a plaque nearby with the following engraving:

"Professor Richard J. Campana (1918-2005) did pioneering research on Dutch elm disease which preserved thousands of American elms, including the Campana Elm. This tree developed the disease in 1972 and was one of the first trees in North America to be saved by injection of fungicide. The Campana Elm is nearly as old as the campus itself."

Hitchner Hall, which is right behind the elm, was built around the tree, so that it would not have to be cut down.

I hope you enjoy this spot and the many other geocaches on campus. Happy caching!

Congrats to MaineHockeyFan for FTF!!
