This is a regular Geocache located in the Bulldog Canyon Off-Highway Area. A permit (currently free) is required to drive into this area; no pass needed for hiking. This is a great area for both hiking and 4-wheeling.
The cache is starting with a well-stocked ammo can; PLEASE make equitable trades. I stress this because other caches I have hidden started well-stocked with varying valued items, but now have mainly junk in them. Look up, at the cache location, and you will see where the name was derived from.
To get to the gate/parking area (at about N33.28.050 W111.31.855) :
Take N Idaho Rd
E on Mckellips
N on Wolverine Pass
E on Tonto
N on Cactus Rd
E on McDowell which ends at the entrance to the gate and parking area.
Most roads in this area are not thru streets is the reason for all the turns to get there.
Permit: The permit for this area is free. It took less than ten minutes to obtain at the Mesa Ranger District Office (5140 E. Ingram St., Mesa AZ).
