Heading south with Dover Air Force Bace on the right and Kitts
Hummock Road to the John Dickinson Plantation on the left, Rt-9
ends as it meets Rt 1 at an overpass. This is the final cache of
the Rt-9 series. If you have time check out official byway stops of
Air Mobility Command Museum, John Dickenson Plantation and the St.
Jones reserve. There is also a total of 6 caches at these
sites.
Route 9 Coastal Heritage Scenic Byway winds along the north and
central Delaware coast, passing through several wildlife refuges
and areas. The byway begins in the historic city of New Castle and
ends just south of Dover Air Force Base. The two-lane, north-south
road runs 52 miles, paralleling the western shore of Delaware River
