Geocache Description:

You seek a small container with log and swag near a place that was just BEGGING for a cache....

The following was reprinted from the book "Country Roads of North Carolina" by Glenn Morris (1994, Country Roads Press):

Before turning north, continue slowly south on State 87 about half a city block, past a small wooded lot, to a gravel driveway on the left. Turn left and you will be facing an abandoned wooden church of grat weathered dignity and unknown denomination. The surrounding graveyard is of greater interest,
As you face the church, walk to the west corner of the graveyard, which is filled with many old family plots. Here you will find a stone marking the grave of Elizabeth Hooper Waters, who died in 1811. She was the last surviving child of William Hooper, one of North Carolina's deligates to the first Continental Congress and one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

...see what I mean?? As with all graveyard caches, always treat these sacred spaces with the dignity they deserve. The cache is not in the cemetery, but is close nearby. If you want to visit the actual grave, the coordinates are below.
