Geocache Description:

A concealed micro, bring your own pen.

This top Coppice of planted Silver Birch is a welcome break from all the pine, or it will be in 20 years! If you look carefully you will see many tracks following the top path, past the remains of the old stalkers' seat, now looking like a wooden mobile 'phone aerial tower (removed when the trees grew too tall), and through this patch on their way into the 'Xmas Tree fields' and through the wire fence. I used to regularly see Fox trotting down here, and on occasion I would wait and try and spot them in the early summer mornings (Horse mucking out duty). They got quite used to me and I would get a nonchalant stare before they trotted off to sleep. I have found most of the coverts around these place in the last 10 years but they are getting fewer. One old chap even used this spot to expire and his remains slowly decayed into the earth just at the corner of all the pine off the track. Now it's more Deer, in fact 3 as I put this cache out, and the foxes tend to be in passing in the centre of the hill. Still stake them out occasionally though.

This is a concealed micro. Trust your GPS, look for the unusual and it will come, probably quicker than you think. Please put it back as you found it for those who come after. If you don't have a GPS, it's in this corner wood somewhere, Google earth is pretty close!!

I recommend the newcomer to park at the bottom (N 57° 40.960 W 003° 25.830), and tackle in order Milo's Corner, Warlock Hill, Fox Coppice Stake Out and finally Rest a While. Dogs will get a great run off the lead, you will too.

Please watch: Parking - it's a Horse stables, don't block the gates. You may also see Horse Riders on the hill, so be aware that the long stretches are used for canter (Horsey jogging). All the horses here are used (and friendly) to dogs, so you are very welcome on this hill. But I have yet to see the dog that will win against a tonne of horse meat!
