A recycled Bass Pro cache.

I came out hunting for cache Gc39va4 and I was amazed at the changes the river has made here. I remember drawing a completely different river when I was here last looking for "log the log" cache by Bass Pro Then I wondered if that cache had been washed away by Huricane Irene's food water. I found the cache were I remembered it in okay condition. The log was covered in black mold so I picked up the container to give it a good cleaning. Now that there is a new cache by the Old Forge site I decided to move this cache a little further away. So that took me on the next days adventure looking for this Butterhill Park on the maps. I met several neighbors and interviewed many people asking if they knew of any such a park and where I could find access. The parking coordinates I have provided take you to a narrow entrance between two properties for public access to a very small playground. As you walk though the playground notice the soft sand under your feet. Apparently portions of this housing development were built on a large sand pit.(Which may be part of the reason why Butternut Road was washed away in Irene and soon houses may fall into the river too.) I followed the social trail around the left end of the fence and down in to the woods. This eventually took me to a great up-close view of the wrath of the Moodna and the changes it brought about when swollen by this summer's rain. Here you will find the cache but may I also recommend taking the time to explore.
