Meet fellow geocachers and learn all about the world of
Geocaching from experienced geocachers on Thursday, February 16,
beginning at 6:45 p.m., at the BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson
Blvd. (Click for
map.)
Tonight's speaker is a seasoned Geocacher with over 2,100 finds
and 95 hides. He is our local Platinum EarthCache Master and is
currently serving you as President of the Board of Directors for
GeocacheAlaska! Inc. He even knows a thing or two about signs and
poodles. We again welcome
NorthWes to the podium, where
he will be delivering a fast-paced Geocaching presentation that is
perfect for both new and old Geocachers. I bet we get a good
geocaching story or two out of him as well!
Some of the topics to be discussed at this EduVent include:
- What is Geocaching?
- How to get Started
- Geocaching Gear and GPSrs
- Finding Geocaches
- In the Field - After the Find
- Logging Geocaches Online
- What is GeocacheAlaska!?
This event will be carried live over the internet via WebEx!
Contact us immediately if you can host a remote site session.
GeocacheAlaska members who cannot attend an event site can link in
remotely. Contact us for instructions on how to do so.
Please post a "Will Attend" log on this event page to stay
appraised of the final details. If we need to make any
announcements about this event, all registered attendees will
automatically receive an email copy of those announcements via the
email you have registered with your Geocaching.com account. Adding
a "Will Attend" log to this page will also assure enough hard copy
handouts are printed for the event participants.
Please arrive on time so upfront administrative details can be
handled and announcements made, allowing the course content to
start precisely at 7:00 p.m. (or 1900hrs if you prefer). Also,
please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and a dessert to
share with your fellow cachers.
There will be a free-will offering cache container at the event
to help defray the costs of hosting these FUNdamentals events if
you would like to make a donation. The GeAK Store will be available
onsite immediately after the presentation. You may purchase items
from our line of GxProxy gear as well as official GroundSpeak
merchandise.
If you have requests for EduVent topics, have a topic that you
would like to present to the Alaskan geocaching community, or would

Alaska, please contact Education Committee Chair and GeAK
WebMaster, SSO
