BCHMprograms: We're finding this location to difficult to maintain a cache. We've tried several different containers, etc. and the cache typically only lasts about a week before it's muggled or destroyed.

Geocache Description:

This is a small-cache in the middle of an open park area, so use your discretion. Feel free to take a souvenir postcard. The cache has been placed by the property owner. This is an easy park and grab with nearby parking, restrooms, etc.

On June 26, 1832 Henry Smith and John Austin led a group of about 100 Texians against the Mexican Garrison at Fort Velasco on the mouth of the Brazos River. Commander Ugartechea surrendered the fort on June 29 after his force ran out of ammunition. This was a prelude to the Texas Revolution that would begin four years later.

The cache has been placed by the property owner with all the permissions needed from the Brazoria County Sheriffs Department, Brazoria County Civil DA's office and Facilities Management.
