Geocache Description:

The fifth in the "Cow And Church" series around Honeybourne. Located near two railway bridges.

All the geocaches are accessible from public footpaths. Please do not walk on the fields as this is unnecessary and will disturb crops and farmers.

From the Leys cache, continue around the field and take the stile on your right. Keep on this foot path, going over the wooden bridge until you come to the main road. Cross the road and walk through the thorny path. When you emerge, turn right and walk around the edge of the field. Keep following this footpath. Continue over the bridge and take the bridge in the far left corner of the field. Continue through this field and enter the next. Go through past the church and walk along the small road which swings to the right. Continue straight on and take the footpath slightly to the right of where the road swings left. Come out at the right of some houses. Cross the road and continue through the next field.

The Cow and Church series circumnavigates both Cow and Church Honeybourne using recognised footpaths and bridle tracks, with a very short distance on quiet roads. It is 5 miles approx. and includes 9 caches of different sizes.

Honeybourne was originally two villages: Church Honeybourne and Cow Honeybourne. In Church Honeybourne the Church of England parish church of Saint Ecgwin was consecrated in 1295. In Cow Honeybourne the parish church has a 15th century Perpendicular Gothic west tower and formerly had an ornate Elizabethan pulpit. The church was used as almshouses from the 16th to the 19th century. Apart from the tower, the church was rebuilt in 1861-63, and has since been made redundant, deconsecrated and converted to private houses.
