How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

No, this streak isn't about a 1970’s pastime for the uninhibited. That would be Additional Logging Requirements, and Groundspeak frowns on such things these days. The Streak Challenge is a series of caches based on consecutive days with at least one find. And you won’t get arrested for participating. Unless you want to combine the two streaks - the caches are pretty close together. Just don’t post any pictures.

*** Cache is at the posted coordinates ***
*** Difficulty rating is based on the challenge. The find itself is one star. ***

Disclaimer

Any resemblance to any cacher living or undead is purely coincidental. It’s all in fun. Chill.

Grandpa Streak

He’s a grizzled old coot. He does what he does. You tell him not to, but that doesn’t stop him from spitting on your floor and dusting off his boots on your settee. And he smells bad, really rank. Long ago, you started telling the neighbours that he moved to Arizona for his health. He’d sooner cut off his arm than entertain your suggestion that he skip today’s cache. Say it again and he’d smash the bottom off that bottle of geocaching gin he’s been sucking on a lot lately and come after you.

Claiming the find

In order to claim this find, the Longest Streak on the Statistics page of your geocaching.com profile must be at least one hundred (100) days. A single year long streak will qualify you for all caches in this series; a separate streak for each cache is not necessary - but if you choose to do it that way, please let us know! Cache owner will verify each find log and delete those which do not meet the criteria. If you’ve restricted access to your Statistics page, contact the cache owner to make other arrangements for verification.

Logs

You’ve come this far, tell us what you think of streaking. How close and how often did you come to quitting? Go to any extraordinary lengths on particular days to keep the streak alive? Any special way you fit it into your busy life? Any long-suffering muggles you live or work with you’d like to thank?

The other caches in this series are:

The Streak Challenge: Teen (GC3BNHM)
