Geocache Description:

A 3 mile circular walk around Uffmoor Wood, a mile south of Halesowen. The woods are managed by the Woodland Trust and consist mainly of planted ancient woodland. They are especially pretty in springtime when the bluebells are in bloom. Streams thread their way through the woods and the paths can be very muddy, so wellies are essential in the winter (and can be handy any time of the year) – you have been warned!!!

There are 11 caches - including the newly adopted "Uffmoor Wood" cache at 6A. Car parking is available at the waypoint but be aware that the car park can get locked at night – so make a note of the closing time before you set off. Limited on-road parking is also available on Uffmoor Lane.
Caches placed with kind permission of the Woodland Trust – please respect the woods and carry out CITO.

This rather fine brickwork is one of the many structures that form part of the Elan Aqueduct – a largely forgotten 73 mile engineering marvel that supplies Birmingham’s water from Wales. Incredible to think that water travels this distance by gravity alone. See (visit link) and (visit link) for more information and (visit link) for a map of the route.

An interesting video is also available (visit link)

Please note that you DO NOT have to climb on the aqueduct to retrieve this cache.

You’re looking for a regular container - watch out for the trip wire!!!

Congratulations to basketcase crew for FTF
