Geocache Description:


This cache will give you a fun walking tour of the University of Virginia on your way to the final cache. At each of the waypoints there should be an easy-to-find plaque or sign where you need to write down the missing number. When you find all of the missing numbers, fill in the coordinates at the end of this description to find the final cache.

Hitting all of the waypoints and walking back to your car should be about a three mile trip, and there are plenty of stairs at UVA, so be prepared for some good exercise. You do not need to go to all of the waypoints in order, but I reccommend doing them this way.

The coordinates for the listing will start you at the University Bookstore where there is also a parking garage. Parking is tough at UVA, so park illegaly at your own risk. If the bookstore is open feel free to grab a map to help you with your journey.

Your first stop will be a famous former UVA student's room while he attended the University. Look for this plaque by the door and write down the missing number:

Next stop is the Rotunda, the symbol of UVA. Enjoy the view of the Lawn before looking for the plaque honoring a former US President. Look at the bottom of it:

Use your navigation skills to find one of the newest additions to UVA, the South Lawn. There is an inscription dedicating the Plaza to a professor. Look for the date range of when he was a professor.

You are now going to head back towards the Bookstore to go to a well-known fountain at UVA. If you are with a friend, sit at each end of the fountain bench, and the acoustic effects will let you whisper to each other. Then look at the back of the bench.

After a little walk you will arrive at the University Cemetery. Here you will find many graves for people who have UVA buildings named after them, One of the larger grave markers is for someone with the initials WDD. Look down his grave marker to find his age:

Head on over to your final stop. From up here you will have a good view of the football stadium. Next to the entrance is a plaque. At the bottom it reads:

 Now replace the letters with the numbers that you've been writing down to find the final location! Each of the letters corresponds to one of the waypoints.

To get there from waypoint F, go across the road towards the dorms and up the hill next to them. Back there is a trail with the cache alongside it.
