Ponga Track, not quite as well maintained as the main tracks in the Parihaka Reserve and not shown on some maps/brochures but well signposted. Ponga track is a nice link between the Hatea River track and Hokianga Track.Start point could be from Whareora Rd or Mair park to the Hatea River track.Approximately half way between these points you will find the entry to Ponga track, about 5 minutes ascending the track you find a small sidetrack on the left with a short 4 x 4 post labelled 22/VE.Alternatively you could come in from Hokianga track.
Take this side track approximately 50 paces to GZ area.
Cache is 1m off track to the right.
Note: Track will be slippery,muddy, in winter so suggest suitable footwear.
