Geocache Description:

Overview: In a wooded area near the river, just off the Woonasquatucket River Greenway/Bike Trail which you should enjoy. You are looking for a small tupperware-like Official Geocache container in a natural hiding place. Room for small trinkets.

Kudos to ~Marvalus & BlackstoneVal for FTF!
It seemed unfair –We are populating our neighborhood (in California) with geocaches, and because I (St.Hart Dad) spend several weeks a year here with AdultDaughter1, the Providence area deserves to be recognized as part of St. Hart's 'Hood. She will tend to the cache when I'm not here. [Name changed/expanded in Feb. 2013 due to publication of 2nd St. Hart's PVD 'Hood cache about a quarter mile away. See 2/27/2013 Note for more on name...]

Requires a short downhill bushwack where you may have to scout out a good route – the best one is pretty much a straight line perpendicular to the greenway. During the growing seasons, the underbrush is heavy (maybe even a little poison ivy), so long-sleeves and appropriate pants are recommended. The coordinates will get you very close, but the trees may jiggle your GZ and your geosense will need to take over. Looks like a relatively muggle-free area, but beware as always.

There is parking in every direction, but all require a few minutes of hiking the greenway to the cache area. Closest parking is probably on Hillside Ave, south of Greenville Ave; there are marked parking spaces at N 41 49.945 W 71 28.200 virtually facing on the greenway. For info about this neat Woonasquatucket River Greenway (bike path), visit the "Related Web Page" — click on the map there for the complete picture including access points.

Please try to replace the cache exactly as you found it, and please do a little CITO along the way as the bushwackable area needs a leetle bit more respect.

And, why not hike a ways on the greenway? There used to be another GC about half a mile south that hopefully will be reactivated soon. (Instead, as of June'2012, Plan550 has placed several more caches along the greenway, at approx. one-third-mile intervals.)
