Geocache Description:


A walk up onto Swampy is well worth the effort. You are rewarded with great views down over Dunedin and the surrounding area. From the carpark on Leith saddle near SH1 it will take approximately an hour of steady walking to reach the telecom transmitter masts.

Along the trail there have been a number of caches placed. Here is another one about midway between the old trig on Swampy Spur and the transmitter. For a new cacher there is the opportunity to find about 6 caches along the well formed walkway. For the old hands, well another walk up Swampy is still worth the effort.

The cache is a 1 litre sistema container with logbook and pencil which is hidden at the base of a manuka bush just off the track.
