Ontario Park located on Madison's east side is a nice small park with a basketball court, open field, and some nice playground equipment. Bring your own pen or writing utensil. It has 2.11 acres or land, does not have restrooms and does not have drinking water. Although it isn't mentioned on the City of Madison website, there is a backstop available, but not a complete baseball diamond. The entrance to the park is located at the intersection of Rockwell and Ontario Street. The park address is 720 Ontario Street. The park is visible from houses the border it and the Capital City trail bike path passes adjacent to the park, so stealth will be required for the find.
The cache is findable from the bike path. There is a fence that separates the park from the bike path. Please be careful as the railroad that is a bit of distance from the cache has trains on rare occasion. You do not have to go anywhere but along the fence line to find this cache.
I believe we are lucky in Madison to have such a great park system. Feel free in your log to write as much as you like about your favorite park in Madison (or any other community) and why it is your favorite park. I remember as a young child I went on a television show...it might have been called Marshall the Marshall (with Marsh Shapiro, I think) where the kids were asked what their favorite city park was. I remember saying that my favorite park was Crystal Park on the east side. Enjoy!
Congrats to carndt777 on the FTF!
