The location we will be cleaning up is central to one of the largest crossing areas for the over 200 deer that live in the Nature Preserve just along the forest fringe of McDowell’s 160 acre prairie, one of the rarest ecosystems in Mecklenburg County. Naturalists will be accompanying the event to talk about the impact this clean up will have on the Prairie ecosystem. The clean up area is a large dump site from the properties previous owners with many types of items to clean up from old refrigerators to tractor tires and general trash. With this much trash we at the Park could use as much help as possible. If enough Cachers attend we should be able to finish around 4 pm. In case of rain the event will be rescheduled for the following day at 2:00 pm
