Populating the trail with another cache to encourage geocachers to take a hike!
The McBride Trail in Rancho Palos Verdes is a mile-long trail offerering spectacular views of the Palos Verdes coastline and Catalina Island. The public trail was dedicated in 1989 for local resident Clifton R. McBride who spent 13 years improving and maintaining it.
This cache is near the former location of Just around the corner. That spur of the moment cache placement managed to survive almost three years here, even though it was started out with only a piece of paper for a log (no cache container, baggie, or pen)!
Parking is available on adjacent residential streets, see the marked Parking Waypoints for the McBride Trail - West Trailhead. If you have already found that trailhead cache, check out the satellite maps for possible closer parking locations.
As always be aware of natural hazards and bring water. We encountered a nice sized garter snake under the rocks right here when we were scouting this placement.
Congratulations to J.A.R. Crew for their very first FTF here!
