WHAT IS A GEOPARK?
Several members of Lehigh Valley Geocachers volunteered to hide interesting and unusual caches in a small, concentrated area. We call this zone a “GeoPark.” If you plan your caching just right, you may qualify for a “One Busy Day” cache. Enjoy!
HUGH MOORE PARK NOTES:
The GeoPark is located on a portion of Hugh Moore Park. Ample parking and picnic tables are available, in addition to biking and hiking trails. You may also enjoy a mule-drawn canal boat ride (fee required) and explore the Emerick Technology Center (admission fee, included with canal boat ride). It’s a wonderful location for a family to spend a day.
Hours: 8am to dusk
Pets: permitted on the east side of the park, only; pets not permitted in the area near the canal boat, technology center or locktender's house, (the west side of the park).
Credit: Please note that our geocaching community has been enriched by the creativity of diehard50248, whose Sword in the Stone cache (GC27NOW) is the original, after which this cache has been modeled.
ABOUT THIS CACHE
Hark, dear Lady and dashing Lorde,
Recall the tale of King Arthur’s sword.
To draw this sword from clutching stone
Good Arthur prevailed, and he alone!
Because he was noble, brave and good,
The sword drew forth, from where he stood.
Are you able to draw from this stone,
The sword to claim for victory’s throne?
Is your heart noble, brave and pure?
Don’t give up, you must endure!
A turn to the left, a twist to the right;
It does not take brute strength or might.
If to triumph you raise this sword,
Then claim the smiley; it’s your reward!
Please post how long it takes to remove the sword and post the results. NOTE: You must also return the sword to its starting position: The black line must NOT show.
