This is the fourth in the Geo Hero series honoring important people in our geocaching community. This one is dedicated to SCPO Rich. As SCPO Rich approaches 6,000 finds, he also has hidden over 100 caches. Numbers alone do not get you into the hero series, but being an ambassidor for our pastime is also critical. I had the pleasure of meeting him as we shared a FTF and then joined other cachers at a local restaraunt. Please join me in celebrating SCPO Rich and all he does for geocaching! Also let me again say, thank you for your service!
You are looking for a small camo'ed pill container which will hold small TBs and small trades. You will want to park in the nearby parking lot shared by a school, a bagel shop and a place where I get my hair cut. It is just off of Route 51 at Brentview (there is a light and turning lane). You will be going down a closed part of Old Clairton Rd. It's easy to find...you need to go over or around the Jersey barriers (its safe). So this is now a paved path for you. There are railroad tracks over on the left side, but you never need to go over the hill. Once you go through the next set of Jersey barriers the pavement ends and you are now very close. You will no longer go near the creek. You will be going onto the other side of the trail. It is GUARDED, so please DO NOT go over the GUARDrail. Enjoy this quiet spot so close to a busy area.
After the first and second caches went missing, I have replaced it in a more traditional location in urban areas even though this is a little off the beaten path. Please bring your own pen.
