Geocache Description:

Come one...come all!
Arrive early...stay late!

Since 2012 is a Leap Year, this event will be part of the Leap Into Caching Multi-Event and we will have the limited edition multi-event geocoins available. And since leap day falls on a Wednesday this year, I decided to hold this event a few days early so more geocachers should be able to attend.

What: Leap in Caching Multi Event
Where: Pavilion #3 @ Reed Canal Park in South Daytona, FL
When: 1:00-4:00 pm

Plenty of parking available and restrooms nearby.

Items we'll need for the pot luck include: buns (hot dog and hamburger), plates and plastic ware, side dishes, drinks (I have cups and will bring some water) and maybe even a little dessert. Please log your 'Will Attend' so I'll know how much meat to purchase, and please include what item you'll be bringing with your 'Will Attend' log so hopefully everyone doesn't bring the same item(s).

Reed Canal Park will have new caches in place before the event date! There should be five (5) cache types in the park by the event date, so you can complete your Busy Day requirements (e.g. Busy Day in Florida - GC1R1VW) the day of this event without leaving the park...all caches are just a short walk, on flat terrain, from the event location...no bushwhacking required!

An example of a Busy Day from my profile.

There will be a brief discussion regarding the upcoming Leap Day souvenir, the various 365 Day Unknown/Mystery caches (e.g. Caching Calendar: 365 Days Challenge - GC2F6W7), a pot luck lunch (I'll be providing the hot dogs and hamburgers)...and it wouldn't be an event of mine if there weren't some prizes handed out!

An example of a Caching Calendar from my profile.

"February 29, known as a leap day in the Gregorian calendar, is a date that occurs in most years that are evenly divisible by 4, such as 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. Years that are evenly divisible by 100 do not contain a leap day, with the exception of years that are evenly divisible by 400, which do contain a leap day; thus 1900 did not contain a leap day while 2000 did. Years containing a leap day are called leap years. February 29 is the 60th day of the Gregorian calendar in such a year, with 306 days remaining until the end of that year." **
