Geocache Description:

A puzzle cache involving a walk of about 5 km if you attempt it from the suggested parking.

It’s been a long winter and you have become very comfortable on the sofa in front of daytime TV. You consider Karl and Susan to be close relatives, let alone the people next door. You can crack the Countdown Conundrum in less than 10 seconds and generate any number from 1 to 999 with any selection or one large and four small. You can predict the Banker’s offer within £100 every time.

Time to get moving otherwise the purchase of a chairlift will be mandatory and you will be investing all your hard earned cash in return for a Parker Pen!

This cache is set in the New Forest, not a suburb of Chester. However, it’s final location shares something with a popular fictional location devised by Phil Redmond. You need to crack the code, then do the sum.

The location given is just a convenient place to park, although you can also access this cache from a variety of access points to the forest, each giving you the opportunity to grab other caches en route.

So, lets start with the letters round. These symbols represent six consonants and three vowels. Create a television soap name.

Symbol ! £ $ $ % £ & * ^
Letter
Value

Now give the symbols a value and we can do the numbers round;

(* – &) x (£ + $ + % + £ + ^) = ??? = N50 55 ??? AND THAT IS THE FINAL 3 FOR NORTH

(! x $) x (* – &) = ??? = W001 42 ??? AND THIS IS THE FINAL 3 FOR WEST

You should have the final location.

Check sum for N = 29 Check sum for W = 22

"Cache placed in accordance with the GAGB New Forest guidelines. Please note there is no night caching allowed in the New Forest".
