DON'T FORGET TO TAKE A PEN

Drumbarron is the hill right next to the centre of Ardara.

This is a very lovely, very easy walk from the centre of town up to the ridge which gives fantastic views of the villge and surrounding area.

We would recommend approaching this cache from the waypointed side for the best views, the easiest route and this turns it into a circular route if you start on The Diamond. This leaves the steepish part of the walk till last and it is much easier walking down it than up it.

Otherwise, you can access the cache from The Diamond by taking the steepish ascent to the left of the hostel.

The route is pushchair/buggy friendly if your buggy can take a little 'off-roading' and watch out for the steep ascent/descent at the start/end.

Please be aware the route can be a bit muddy after rain.

Parking anywhere in the village and following the road around to the waypoint makes this a quick and simple half hour walk - enough to work up a small thirst before a drink in one of the cosy local pubs or cafes.

There is a picnic bench along the route if you wish to take some refreshments but please remember to take all litter with you when you leave. (CITO)
